PGE INJECTION MOULDING

Ijectionmoulding_placeholder1_TreatedPGE is a metal injection company specialising in titanium products. It also produces a range of products in stainless, copper, aluminium and other metals.

New Zealand is titanium rich though production is typically a high cost process due to titanium’s particular properties. Developing the technology to make complex titanium components at an affordable cost has been the goal of research for some years. PGE has made the breakthrough.

Bringing together a mix of original scientific research, practical know-how and thinking outside the box, PGE has developed an innovative process that uses traditional metal moulding machinery to make high value titanium and other metal products.

Typically PGE is targeting engineering applications where the main property requirements include shape complexity, good surface finish, good corrosion resistance and static mechanical properties such as strength, ductility, durability and biocompatibility. As markets begin to open up PGE sees its future in producing for aerospace, marine and medical implant industries.

Both the export and domestic market for titanium manufacturing is huge. GREENCHIP (Neil MacKay is the Chair and Commercial Director of PGE) provides organisational, commercial, marketing and funding support for PGE to help bring its products to market.

PGE is currently building on its growing New Zealand and US customer base. Listening carefully to client needs and tailoring cost effective solutions to meet those needs is at the core of PGE’s success to date and growth strategy.
